TORONTO | A national network has been launched to improve the care and management of kidney cancer patients. The Kidney Cancer Research Network of Canada has received funding through a partnership between the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Kidney Foundation of Canada, and Kidney Cancer Canada. -
Mount Sinai discovery could affect kidney failure treatment
TORONTO | Researchers Dr. Susan Quaggin and Dr. Tony Pawson at Mount Sinai Hospital’s Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute have made a discovery relating to the effects of a vital signalling protein in the kidney. It could affect drug therapies and treatment for the more than 30,000 Canadians who suffer from kidney failure.
