An emergency directive calling for some patients in Edmonton hospitals to be treated in hallways was lifted Thursday after Alberta Health Services was able to place some patients in other facilities.
The mother said she and her family followed a strict diet of only raw fruits and vegetables faced sentencing on Monday in the malnutrition death of her 18-month-old son.
The order had been enacted earlier in the week to reduce pressure on emergency departments while Alberta Health Services worked to place some patients in other hospitals or care facilities.
Dr. Aasim Malik asked one colleague what he should do to satisfy her sexual needs and told another to sleep with as many people as possible, according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
