Pharmacy U turns 10 this year! Canada's leading event for the pharmacy industry will be in-person once again, on April 2, 2022, at the International Centre. That in itself is cause to celebrate.
1. 2008 – Organizers, noting government reform and financial pressures on retail pharmacy, identify a growing need for dramatically different type of education for pharmacists – “Business-oriented education.”
2. 2012 – Pharmacy U Toronto launches with the mandate of successfully educating retail pharmacists and pharmacy owners on sustainable and profitable best practices – teaching pharmacists “what to do & how to do it.”
3. 2013 – Pharmacy U grows dramatically, attracting pharmacists from across Canada, including Western, Atlantic and Quebec regions.
4. November 2013 – Pharmacy U Vancouver launches.
5. May 2018 – Pharmacie U Quebec debuts.
6. 2015 – Pharmacy U becomes a completely CE-accredited conference.
7. 2013 – Pharmacy U attendance surpasses the 500 attendees mark (when?)
8. Pharmacy U presenter Mike Boivin becomes the first pharmacist to present at nearly every Pharmacy U event in Toronto and Vancouver.
9. 2016 – Pharmacy U welcomes the first pharmacy students as attendees.
10. March 2021 – Pharmacy U hosts its first-ever completely virtual national event.
