Tech Talk CE: Understanding the pathophysiology and treatment of common cardiovascular (CV) conditions seen in daily practice
Despite being the second-leading cause of death after cancer, heart disease is largely preventable. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada estimates that almost 80% of premature heart disease and stroke cases can be prevented by avoiding known risk factors and living a healthy lifestyle.2 Knowing the risk factors and how to minimize them is where pharmacy technicians can make a lasting impact on the health of their patients.
This learning module focuses on some of the common cardiovascular conditions pharmacy technicians will encounter in daily practice: hypertension, dyslipidemia, atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

- Discover different ways a pharmacy technician can educate patients to reduce their risks of developing these cardiovascular complications
