In the spirit of experimentation, I decided to convert two of my four lectures into online modules using Articulate. 

Sometimes it can feel like an uphill battle to carve out a niche. Make sure your niche complements your pharmacy’s strengths and is sustainable. Your pharmacy is your passion. It’s important that what your practice does and stands for forms a key part of the community and is a reflection of you.

Understanding what is available to you and what aligns with your financial appetite is important. You want to ensure you are comfortable with your decisions but also understand that as with operating any business there is risk.

As pharmacists at some point or another we’ve all had the thought cross our minds. Is ownership for me? For some people the idea strikes no interest. For others it’s in their blood. They knew the day they got their pharmacy school acceptance letter that this is what they wanted to do.

“Due diligence means you have to know the good things and the bad things you are buying. Are the bad things easily fixable, or will the store be a money sinkhole?”

As Dickens wrote "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...". Well, certainly the worst part is easy to see and hear...every day in our stores, on the faces of our employees and patients and on the news and in social media.
