Professor Andrea Edginton and the Waterloo Pharmacy assessment committee were honoured at the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada (AFPC) conference in Quebec City this month.

Pharmacists Patricia Gerber, Craig Plain and Naomi Steenhof are winners of the 2017 Wellspring Leadership Awards. They receive a total of $10,000 from the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy to pursue individual initiatives to develop personal leadership through study, experiential learning or mentorship.

FREDERICTON – One manufacturer’s waste is another pharmacist’s health supplement. Fredericton pharmacist Dan Pike is hoping to transform waste from the blueberry and haskap juicing process into a powered anthocyanin extract.

He is thought to be the first Indigenous doctor of pharmacy but Jaris Swidrovich actually wanted to be an actor before he got into pharmacy. When he was 19-years-old, Swidrovich and his sister got jobs helping out the Indspire Awards (an event to showcase and celebrate Indigenous success stories). It was the first time he was exposed to pride in the Indigenous culture.
