We asked Shivali
What is one way pharmacists can become more comfortable speaking up for the profession?
“One of the most effective ways pharmacists can become more comfortable speaking up is by recognizing the power and credibility they already hold. As pharmacists, we are often strong advocates for change, yet many of us doubt our ability to engage in conversations with elected officials or decision-makers. In my experience, however, speaking from the frontlines is exactly what those in positions of influence need to hear.
“Our ability to advocate not only for our profession, but for our patients and our communities, brings a level of insight that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Pharmacists should never underestimate the influence they have through the knowledge gained from patient relationships and a deep understanding of the real-world challenges that directly impact health outcomes. When we lead with that lived experience, our voices become both credible and impactful.”
