Doctors abandoning independent practice in U.S.
An annual review of U.S. physician recruiting trends suggests that doctors south of the border are increasingly opting to work for hospitals. According to the 2010/11 study, 1,495 (56%) of 2,660 assignments were for hospital positions, compared with 505 (19%) for groups, 344 (13%) for partnerships and 323 (12%) for solo, association or other types of employment scenarios.
