Advocacy groups raise alarm over the possibility of hospital charges for patients to force them to consent to go to long-term care homes not of their choosing.
Passed in November 2019, the bill gave the Health Minister, at the time Tyler Shandro, the power to tear up the province's agreement with doctors along with any future agreements.
NDP Opposition Leader Carla Beck criticized the delivery of out-of-province care, saying it would allow people to jump the line, which goes against the principles of the Canadian healthcare system.
