A recent report warned of the considerable adverse effects of loneliness and social isolation—comparing it to other leading risk factors for premature death such as smoking, obesity, elevated blood pressure and high cholesterol.
The students, Harneet Gill, Nursan Abdullah, and Nina Seuntjens, won the award for the University of Toronto’s pharmacy 2023 Business Plan Competition for their idea.
The project would include a large section devoted to health care and easing the strain on the city's largest hospital, says a source in the Progressive Conservative government.
