Patient-First Language

I have been many things in my life, I have worn many roles, and I’m not sure what to do with them when I finally take them off. Are they still mine, or did I just borrow them before?

I named my seven-legged spider Seven. I picked a gender-neutral name because, well, it was difficult to tell what I was dealing with. I wanted to make contact, so whenever I saw it I would say its name softly and gently, so it would learn
