The association noted Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia have integrated PAs into their health system, as well as those operating within the Canadian Armed Forces. Despite the keen need for trained health professional, especially given the pandemic, PAs aren't allowed to work in B.C.

Denning Health Group, which runs seven clinics in several Greater Vancouver cities is running advertisements in Alberta hoping to recruit doctors, urging them to “escape the politics” and “come practice in beautiful B.C."

Guy Smith, president of the Alberta Union Provincial Employees told the paper the walk-off was a spontaneous and grassroots effort.

Ontario announced in March it was extending the validity of drivers' licences and health cards to promote physical distancing at ServiceOntario locations. But Dr. Samantha Hill, president of the OMA, said after many doctors supported the move, the province hasn't followed up regarding related claims.

The Support Network for Indigenous Women and Women of Colour is seeking funding to develop the app, similar to Yelp. They want to collect information around experiences with medical practitioners, and help people find culturally-sensitive providers.
