Dr. Richard Barr's actions did not cause his patient's stroke two days after a lithotripsy, but he should have made sure the patient was informed about a plan for discontinuing his anticoagulation medication.
Dr. Nili Kaplan-Myrth wasn't the only one targeted in the letter. Its author also threatened the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, 'if you side with her barbarian pseudoscientific ass.'
Adrian Dix said Friday that the Ministry of Health is working with the professional college regulating doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals.
The college confirmed to CBC News that five investigations are ongoing and involve Alberta doctors against whom the most numerous and serious complaints have been made.
