Currently, hospital staff including physicians and nurse aides must quarantine for 14 days after potential exposure to the virus. But Alberta's hospitals are doing their best to function with staffing shortages, with some hospitals having to close beds.

Provincial authorities say they have advised the Public Health Agency of Canada of the issue and an alert has been posted to ensure other jurisdictions are aware of the situation in New Brunswick.
