The president and chief executive officer of Windsor Regional Hospital is quarantining after crossing the border into Michigan to source a rare medication for a patient in the ICU department.

The tent is aimed at allowing hospitals to continue procedures like intubation, biPAP and ventilation, which can spray particles up to 10 metres away. The device is portable and so allows patients to be transported more safely within the hospital.

The pilot project saw the province team up with telemedicine provider Maple to provide islanders with access to the eight P.E.I. physicians who've signed on to meet with patients over the phone or video conferencing.

New made-in-Canada test strips used to identify SARS-CoV-2 will allow rapid point-of-care RT-PCR testing in remote locations, workplace settings or pharmacies. The test strips are thermostable, meaning they don’t need refrigeration or cold-chain storage during transportation.
