News over dysfunctional emergency rooms all across the country has been swirling for weeks. So what do we actually need to do to fix it?

An emergency directive calling for some patients in Edmonton hospitals to be treated in hallways was lifted Thursday after Alberta Health Services was able to place some patients in other facilities.

Ontario Health says 10 hospitals have had to temporarily close emergency departments since June due to lack of nursing services.

The order had been enacted earlier in the week to reduce pressure on emergency departments while Alberta Health Services worked to place some patients in other hospitals or care facilities.

No one has died of the virus in the U.S., but some deaths have been reported in other countries.
