St. Mike's ER doused by pipe burst one floor above; staff assessing next steps for level-one trauma centre
The emergency department at a level-one trauma centre in Toronto was shut down for the day on Feb. 16. At 1 a.m. in the morning, a pipe burst on the second floor of St. Michael’s Hospital in the Cardinal Carter Wing. The wing sits above the emergency room, and water leaked through the walls and ceiling into a large part of the ER.
