This CE lesson will equip pharmacy technicians to contribute to vaccination services to their full scope of practice, optimize policies and procedures, and navigate the complexity of vaccine schedules and regulations.

  1. Describe pharmacy technicians’ contributions and workflow related to vaccination services, including roles for technicians with and without scope of practice to administer injections.
  2. Implement best practices for storage, safety, and documentation specific to vaccination services.
  3. Access and interpret information on provincial/territorial publicly funded vaccination programs and NAPRA (National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities) schedules.
  4. Identify the vaccination workflow model(s) that best integrates pharmacy technicians as injectors considering their workplace’s dispensary volume and staffing.
