Lu-Ann Murdoch is a drug information consultant pharmacist based in North York, Ont. As the long-time consulting clinical editor of Pharmacy Practice + Business, she selects clinical topics, authors and columnists, edits clinical articles and prepares the Drug News column. In this position, she has shared several awards with colleagues: a Kennerth R. Wilson Award, a Business Information Group Award, and a Trade Association Business Publications International Award. 

Lu-Ann also writes articles and maintains lists of clinical guidelines and Health Canada new drug approvals for the Canadian Healthcare Network website. She was the first Canadian drug information consultant for Pharmacist’s Letter and continues her longstanding work with Pharmacist's Letter Canada

Lu-Ann has extensive background as a provincial drug information centre founder and director, and earlier experience as a hospital pharmacist after completing a pharmacy residency at Toronto General Hospital. She previously held several positions with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, including Ontario Branch Delegate (elected), national Educational Services Committee chairperson and Associate Editor of the Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy

Lu-Ann enhanced communication among Canadian drug information centres by establishing the Drug Information Centre Exchange newsletter, organizing and chairing two national drug information symposia, and securing funds for a pilot project of electronic communication among Canadian drug information centres. For several years, she was an assistant editor for Drugdex (Micromedex) and a tutor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto.

In her leisure time, Lu-Ann loves reading mystery novels, walking 5 km twice daily, and gardening at home and cottage. She is an avid supporter of the Toronto Wildlife Centre
