Why the OMA missed the boat in current negotiations with government
Playing the “access card” when some parts of the province are practically swarming with doctors is just plain bad strategy, and the fact is that in those areas where access continues to be a problem the OMA has proven powerless to convince their colleagues to serve. The OMA should have figured out months ago that the government had decided to make them a poster child for austerity. - 5/9/2012

A new campaign banner has emerged in this year’s British Columbia Medical Association elections. “B.C. Doctors for a Democratic Future” is an initiative to flag BMCA candidates who are seen as more likely to be pro-democracy. “Our message to doctors is, ‘Pay attention, engage and start making meaningful decisions or forever have health authorities and government do it for you.’” - 5/9/2012
