If you are a Canadian healthcare practitioner, you’ve probably seen our bright pink advertisements for something called “OTC Spark.”  You may even have received an email inviting you to sign up for this virtual event. But what is this new education day and why should you think about attending?

OTC Spark is a brand new educational offering from the same people who bring you Pharmacy Practice + Business, CanadianHealthcareNetwork, The Medical Post, the eCortex CE platform and the popular Pharmacy U business conferences.

This time, we’re putting our focus (and our expert attention) on the most under-served and least-addressed aspect of healthcare clinical eduction—nonprescription remedies. Trusted OTC education has always been hard to access, yet with pharmacists taking on a greater role as initial providers of primary healthcare, you are getting more questions about  minor and common ailments and conditions that are often manageable with nonprescription remedies or supplements,

To be held on September 23, OTC Spark is  a virtual education day focused on helping healthcare professionals learn up-to-date, research-backed information about some of the most commonly-seen patient issues that generally involve the use of over-the-counter medications. Based on feedback from you, our audience of over 50,000 healthcare professionals, we’ve asked experts to prepare  educational sessions on four OTC-related topics for which you’ve told us (via our annual surveys on OTC Counselling and Recommendations)  you most need more information.

We are proud to have gathered some of the world’s best experts on each topic to lead you in concise, engaging, one-hour educational sessions to help you feel better prepared to counsel patients on these common issues. All sessions will be independently-created and CCCEP accredited for a potential total of 4.5 CEUs awarded to attendees of the full program.
