Tech launches coaching business for aspiring RPhTs

With the launch of Pharmacy Technician Excellence Coaching (PTEC), founder Simran Bal aims to coach and support aspiring RPhTs, particularly those preparing for their Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) licensing examinations.Bal, a registered pharmacy technician in Ontario, has more than five years of combined experience in both community and hospital pharmacy settings as well as serving as an instructor and program coordinator. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science, she also holds certifications in injection training, including Mastering Injections in Pediatrics. She has worked closely with the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) and PEBC. “My journey began as an international student, providing me with a unique perspective on the challenges of starting a new career in a new country,” she says. “While my coaching services are open to all aspiring pharmacy technicians, I have a particular focus on supporting international students, drawing from my own experience to understand and address their unique challenges in pursuing careers in Canada.” Read: The joys of exploring other pharmaciesBesides coaching students currently enrolled in pharmacy technician programs, she offers consultation services for individuals considering a career in healthcare, “to ensure that becoming a pharmacy technician is the right fit for them.”Bal’s inspiration to start PTEC stems from her passion for teaching and her commitment to helping others succeed in the pharmacy field. “Having served as an instructor and program coordinator, I've witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of personalized guidance,” she says. She conducts her coaching services primarily remotely to accommodate students from various locations across Canada and internationally, using a combination of video conferencing, online learning platforms, and personalized study plans tailored to each student's needs. Remuneration varies based on the chosen package, ranging from individual sessions to comprehensive exam preparation programs.
