Medtronic Canada recognized as one of Canada's Best Large Workplaces for 2015 for fifth year in a row

BRAMPTON, ONT. | Medtronic Canada, a trusted Canadian leader in innovative medical technologies, patient care products and health system solutions, has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Large Workplaces for 2015, as part of the Great Place to Work® Institute’s annual competition. This special designation recognizes the Top 50 large and multinational companies with more than 1,000 employees worldwide. It is based primarily on a survey of employees, which generates a Trust Index© score, and is combined with a Culture Audit© to determine the winners.As part of its Culture Audit, Medtronic Canada was recognized by the Great Place to Work® Institute for its high level of pride, mission-focus, and employee health and wellness programs.“I have a child with special needs who requires a lot of my time. That’s one person—one life improved— every three seconds.“Our Health and Wellness programs are very well utilized, including our fully-equipped onsite fitness centres with an in-house trainer, fitness subsidy for remote employees, onsite massage therapy and our subsidized cafeteria.” says André Guérin, director of Human Resources. In surveys conducted of employees, the fitness centres were singled out as one of the benefits employees valued most.The recognition of Canada’s Best Large Workplaces for 2015 is one of many honours Medtronic Canada has received. Medtronic also received Best Employer in Canada for Women in 2015 and since 2011, Medtronic has been ranked as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and a Top Employer in the GTA each year, and a Best Employer for New Canadians in 2012 and 2013 by Media Corp.
