Cardiologist who raped junior colleague in 'horrific' assault stripped of licence, hit with $124K in hearing costs
Dr. Syed Nasir Ali, who continued to practice after a 2017 civil court found him guilty and ordered damages and costs of almost $700,000, argued at his sanctions hearing that the assault happened 20-plus years ago. But the seriousness and impact of the assault are not diminished by the passage of time, wrote the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal.
