Alberta pharmacists: Is the new funding increase enough?

Alberta pharmacists! We want to hear your thoughts on the new agreement between Alberta's government and the Alberta Pharmacists' Association.

The three-year deal includes a 3% increase to pharmacy compensation in each of the first two years, along with increases to dispensing fees and changes to how some clinical services are funded. 

The agreement also introduces a monthly cap on billings for clinical pharmacy services, expands pharmacist-led care in some rural communities and allows longer prescription refills for patients with stable chronic conditions.

What do you think of these changes? After years of rising operating costs, do you think these increases go far enough? Will the new agreement improve the sustainability of community pharmacy, or are further changes needed?
